Bakery and dessert ice cream flavors

Cookies, cake, brownies and pie folded into ice cream, from cookies and cream to key lime pie.

This section holds eight flavors that turn a favorite dessert into a scoop: cookies, cake, brownies, cheesecake and pie. Cookies and cream, cookie dough and birthday cake are among the easiest to find.

It is for anyone who wants dessert and ice cream in one bowl, and for home makers planning their own versions, who should read the note below on raw flour first.

Baked goods and raw flour

These flavors get their texture from pieces of cookie, cake or crust. In factory ice cream, the Guelph e-Book says, those pieces go in as the ice cream leaves the freezer, half frozen and about as soft as soft serve. At home, the FDA says flour is a raw food: do not eat raw dough, do not use raw-flour products like cake mix in ready-to-eat treats, and do not try to heat-treat flour yourself.
